Preschool philosophy

We believe that it is here in the church nursery that a child’s foundational thoughts and feelings toward the church and God will be formed.  We are committed to making church a positive experience for both the child and the parent by providing a safe and nurturing environment.  The following guidelines have been established to enhance your experience in our Preschool Department.

Arrival and Pickup

  • Please complete an information card on your child’s first visit.

  • Nursery/preschool volunteers will meet parents at the door so parents do not have to enter the room.

  • Fill out the security sticker at your child's classroom door. Part of the sticker goes on your child’s back and the other part is your security tag.

Please be considerate by picking up your children promptly following each service.  Your child will be released to you when you return with the security tag.  This is for the protection of your child.

Miscellaneous

§         Parents are requested to bring a sufficient supply of diapers, Pull-ups and so forth.

§         Please label all diaper bags, bottles, and other belongings.

§         Please bring a labeled sippy cup if your child needs one.

§         A pacifier holder that attaches to clothing is ideal.

§         Please notify volunteers of any toileting needs.  Labels are available to make volunteers aware.

§         Please advise volunteers of any allergies.  We have labels available to identify your child’s allergy.

§         Regular attendance will help your child feel more comfortable  and secure.

It is not unusual for children to cry at initial separation.  We will make every effort to make sure your child is safe and comfortable.

Health and Safety

In order to safeguard the health of all children, we ask that you not bring your child to the preschool classroom when he/she has the following symptoms:

  • Fever of 100 degrees.

  • Diarrhea or vomiting.

  • Acute cold symptoms such as excessive coughing, sneezing, green or  yellow nasal  discharge.

  • Red or discharging eyes.

  • Children should be without fever, vomiting, or diarrhea for 24 hours   before being left in classroom.

Please notify the nursery if your child contracts a contagious disease.
